Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) is an independent, autonomous agency of the Government of Pakistan, responsible for recruiting civil servants and bureaucrats in the government sector. Established under Article 242 of the Constitution of Pakistan, the FPSC operates by the Federal Public Service Commission Ordinance of 1977 and the rules framed under it.
Role and Functions
The FPSC’s primary role is to conduct competitive exams to recruit officers of Grades 17 and above in various federal government departments. The most notable examination conducted by FPSC is the Central Superior Services (CSS) exam, which selects candidates for key administrative, foreign, customs, and police services of Pakistan.
